Katharine McPhee and David Foster are still in mourning after the unexpected death of their nanny. An unknown source claims that the music couple is devastated upon finding out the tragic news.

Katharine McPhee, David Foster Grieve Death of Their Nanny

In the wake of their agonizing loss, the Foster household is offering their assistance to Yadira Calito’s family. According to a source, McPhee and her husband are willing to do anything they can for their former nanny’s family during this trying time.

“They considered their nanny to be part of their family and are devastated by her passing. They just want to be there for her loved ones however they can be and support them through this,” the source claimed.

Amid the tragedy, a source from Us told that McPhee is “not leaving her son’s side.” While the two-year-old is still “too young to absorb the reality of what happened,” he also needs comfort during the painful situation. The source further said that McPhee and Calito’s family will take time to “digest, heal and cope” after the accident.

Calito died of blunt trauma after an 84-year-old woman accidentally accelerated into a Toyota car dealership in San Fernando Valley, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The elderly driver reportedly hit the gas instead of the brakes, pinning Calito under the vehicle. LAPD noted that the investigation is still ongoing, and no arrest has yet been made.

She Returns to Stage Weeks After the Tragedy

Nearly two weeks upon Calito’s death, McPhee had the courage to go back on stage. The singer performed at a private event in Ravello, Italy, with former Waitress costar Erich Bergen.

During the event, McPhee wore a short white dress with spaghetti straps for her performance. She’s also with Foster, who was sporting a white suit while playing the piano.

On Wednesday, Bergen shared snippets of McPhee’s performance on Instagram.

“Singing Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons songs in Italy just seems appropriate. So great to perform with my friends @davidfoster @katharinefoster and @thelondonessentials,” he wrote.

In August 11, McPhee announced that she’s leaving their Hitman Tour because of a “horrible tragedy.” The “Terrified” hitmaker didn’t reveal the exact situation but stated that at least one of them needs to get back home to their family.
