Alhaji Adamu Usman, the Emir of the member representing Toungo constituency in the Adamawa House of Assembly has been abducted by unknown gunmen in the state capital, Yola.
The lawmaker was snatched at his home at Kofare Ward of Yola last night, NAN reports.
The police have confirmed the incident, with the Adamawa police spokesman Othman Abubakar revealing that Usman was kidnapped at gunpoint.

However, he assured the public that the police were currently investigating the matter.

Usman is one of only two lawmakers to win his re-election bid after defecting from the PDP to the APC in the polls.
This is the third political related kidnapping in the state in the past six months.
Alhaji Sani Ribadu, the brother of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and Wilson Gundiri, a brother to Engr Markus Gundiri, were recently kidnapped but later freed. Markus Gundiri was the SDP gubernatorial candidate in the just-concluded polls had suffered the same fate.
