President Uhuru Kenyatta's Mt Kenya camp has come up with a raft of conditions they want Deputy President William Ruto to meet when he comes to the reconciliation table.
The group wants Ruto to come to the table without any political expectations, stop campaigning for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), return to the Jubilee fold and stop “inciting” Mt Kenya residents against the head of state.

They also want the DP to accept and respect the March 9, 2018, handshake between Uhuru and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Ruto will also be compelled to tell Kenyans what happened between him and his boss and stop “lying” to the public that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) killed the Big Four Agenda.
On Wednesday, September 15, Ruto said he was ready to mend fences with his boss after Catholic bishops talked of reconciliation.
During a press conference, some 23 bishops said the animosity between the head of state and his deputy was unhealthy and could plunge the country into chaos.
"I am in it without conditions. We were elected together by Kenyans, who gave us the responsibility of running this government for a particular period,” the DP said.Political conmen
Ruto further blamed his fallout with the head of state on a section of people he labelled as 'conmen' who drove a wedge between him and Uhuru.

Daily Nation reports that the leaders who included MPs Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), Maoka Maore (Igembe North), Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragwa), Jude Njomo (Kiambu) and Mwathi Mungai (Limuru) said the DP isolated himself from the government to coerce Uhuru to endorse his 2022 presidential bid.
“Ruto must first accept that he wronged his boss. He must be humble. Let him get off the pedestal and publicly apologise to Uhuru sincerely and genuinely, not the cheeky statements he constantly makes,” Wambugu said.Kioni said Ruto should stop campaigning for UDA if he is sincere about reconciliation.
“The DP is a member of Jubilee but he has been promoting and growing another political outfit called UDA. That is naked impunity. The DP should reconcile himself with the rule of law and the Big Four Agenda,” said Kioni.Church's reconciliation efforts
Maore said the Church is not sincere in the reconciliation efforts, adding that Ruto has been using the pulpit to undermine the president.
Justin Muturi Accuses Uhuru of Dictatorship, Defends William Ruto's Ousted Allies
Uhuru and Ruto started reading from different political scripts right after the March 2018 handshake between the Jubilee Party leader and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
As a result, Ruto was gradually pushed to the periphery in the running of government affairs, culminating in the ejection of all his allies from plum government positions.
