Comedian and radio personality Herman Kago, popularly referred to as Professor Hamo, has revealed he has tested negative for COVID-19 hours after his co-host Jeff Koinange announced he had tested positive for the disease.

Hamo said he was safe and urged Kenyans to take a coronavirus test to determine their status.

In a post on his social media handles on Monday, July 20, night, the witty presenter said Koinange whom they co-host a morning show at Hot 96 with was doing well.

"My brother is doing great thanks for all the messages and phone calls. I'm telling you he's getting his hair done and practicing his bass. I tested negative and I'm safe, let's find time and get the test so that we fight this virus," said Hamo.

Hamo's fans were excited to hear he was okay as they prayed for Koinange who is also a TV anchor.

Koinange said he was asymptomatic and had gone into isolation.

The journalist said his family was in good condition and he had informed his close contacts about his results.

"Folks, just to let you know, I have tested positive for COVID-19. I'm doing Good..no symptoms...and my family is fine. All my close contacts have been informed. Right now I'm in self isolation. Many thanks to Royal Media Services Management for its support. Stay safe and God bless," he wrote on his social media pages.
