Police are holding a middle-aged man for questioning in connection with the gruesome murder of an elderly woman in Litein, Kericho on Wednesday, February 20.
The 30-year-old suspect is believed to be part of a gang that broke into a home, hacked Anne Chepkwony to death and defiled her three grand daughters at around 4am.

During the incident, the thugs managed to make away with an unknown amount of money.
A house help and husband of the deceased were left hit with blunt objects leaving them with serious injuries.
The three girls positively identified the man after an identification parade was conducted by the investigating team.
Kericho county police commander James Mugera confirmed Chepkwony who was unwell and resigned to a wheel chair, was hit on the head.

A nine-year-old boy who escaped unhurt told reporters the gang blindfolded its victims before attacking them one by one using knives and iron bars as he watched.
He made a distress call to neighbours who thronged the homestead in the morning with police officers arriving at the scene to take the body to the mortuary.
"It is indeed sad that this incident happened less than one kilometre from Litein Police Station. The laxity shown by our security agencies has angered our people. This needs to come to an end," Kaposit MCA Paul Chirchir said.A manhunt was intensified to net other accomplices.
