Long before he came to Citizen Tv, Rashid Abdalla was a presenter at NTV. He was that sharp handsome man that ladies kept asking “is Rashid Abdalla married?” Too bad, you know, he is not only married but, now, stands beside his wife presenting the 7 pm news on citizen TV: Wikendi Nipashe.

And although they try their best to be professional, we can’t help but notice the love and chemistry that exists between the two. 1. The two met at work

While others wait for their prince charming to walk out of the palace and into the woods to find the sleeping beauty, these two knew there was no palace anywhere near them. Their palace and their woods were their working place. Lulu was working at Radio Salaam, Rashid heard the voice and he could not contain himself. He needed to meet her. And, meet her, he did. This was just shortly after her mother died, and ever since meeting her, he has been her shoulder and her support system.

2. They got engaged after only two weeks of meeting each other

Come to think of it, how do some people date for years and then still end up marrying someone else? Well, our dear power couple was wise enough to see beyond the shenanigans and as soon as they set eyes on each other, they knew they were two peas of the same pod. They took the risk to be engaged after two weeks of meeting each other, and, as far as we can tell, no regrets.

3. Lulu Hassan husband, Rashid, had no money for their dowry

Go for dowry negotiations today and you will be asked for almost half a million shillings, plus animals and gifts for the whole clan. It wasn’t so for Rashid Abdallah. Now, it is another thing to engage a lady after only two weeks of meeting and it is another thing to engage her without any dowry preparations. Who does that? Rashid Abdallah. He used to earn Ksh, 5,000 per month then, how could he afford half a million? He only submitted a Quran and a prayer mat for Lulu's dowry, and the parents accepted. That was a lucky strike. If only people would learn from that.

4. They have been together for 11 years

These two have been together for 11 years now. After engaging after two weeks of meeting, marrying with a dowry of a Quran and a prayer mat, and all that women of today see as a joke, they have held each other’s hand for 11 good years and they are still going strong. Interestingly enough, they lived together after engagement, but no, they did not taste the fruit even once until their wedding night in 2013. That was a lot of discipline for sure. It is a beautiful love story, a book they are still writing.

5. Rashid Abdallah and Lulu Hassan wedding was a big event

When you are as likeable as Lulu Hassan, you don’t ever get to have a small wedding or do you. Lulu had a big wedding. Her neighbors, friends, acquaintances and even strangers turned out. It was almost like the whole neighborhood came to witness that wedding. Since her mother had passed away and could not give her away as is customary, her friends stepped in and took on the task. If you see Lulu Hassan wedding photos, she was happy, so happy to have made it happen.

6. Lulu Hassan dress code- Lulu Hassan is not a Somali

Most people look at Lulu Hassan and what first comes to mind is, ooh she is a beautiful Somali girl. Nope. Lulu is of Seychellois and Kikuyu descent. Her let mother was a Seychellois and Kikuyu descent and father is of Seychellois descent. She is a beautiful mixed breed, for sure. And, her dress code accentuates her beauty. She dresses respectively and rarely will you see her without her hijab unless outside the office. Her dresses are long but beautiful. Apparently, men love women with a great and beautiful dress code, and, who will blame them.

7. Lulu Hassan children - They have two boys together

That is just how the world goes, right. See and love, engage and marry, and after marriage what next. Producing a continuation of generations. Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan have continued their generation through two handsome boys: Jibran, and Irfan, as classy as their parents. They have a sense of fashion too. Hopefully, Lulu will be bringing a girl into the world the next time. But even if it was a boy, who cares. They are all just blessings anyways.

8. How much does lulu Hassan earn - They are wealthy

Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdallah’s salaries combine to amount to over a million per month. Lulu Hassan earns an estimated ksh 3000,000 plus over 100,000 in allowances. Rashid Abdalla salary now is Ksh550,000, plus other allowances and perks. That is a good salary in Kenya if you ask me. But, they never act wealthy. They are just two regular people full of humility and who love to spread warmth and love to anyone who sees them. They also have a simple but elegant home in Kwale County, Coast.

Rashid Abdallah age is kept on the low. He joined Radio Salaam in 2006. That is where he met Lulu and fell head over heels in love with her. Rashid was then moved to QTV and later NTV. He worked with NTV for years before finally moving to Citizen TV where he now co-anchors with his wife.

Lulu Hassan biography

Lulu Khadija Hassan was born in Mombasa, to a mother of Seychellois and Kikuyu descent. Growing up, her mother ran businesses, so she had a pretty smooth childhood. She is the firstborn of three girls. She attended Aga Khan Academy and later trained to be a cabin crew hostess. She then landed a job at Radio Salaam, so she decided to go back to school for a journalism course. She studied Communication and Journalism. Her mother died after she had started working so she stepped in, took over her business and became the caregiver to her two siblings.

After a short while, a KTN crew told her there was a crisis at KTN and she decided to apply for the position. That is how she moved from Radio Salaam to KTN. From KTN she moved to Citizen TV to anchor 7 pm news alongside Kanze Dena. When Kanze was promoted to the State House, her position was taken by Rashid Abdallah.
