The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) has reportedly given its support for the presidential bid of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A former chairman of the Jigawa chapter of MACBAN, Ya’u Haruna, made this known on Sunday during a meeting held at the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute, Abuja.
Haruna disclosed that MACBAN’s decision to back Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition is due to the former Lagos governor’s contribution to the association over the years.
The MACBAN chieftain recalled how Tinubu intervened and resolved an issue that involved the association when it had a crisis in Benue State during his time as Lagos governor.
According to Haruna, the presidential hopeful can do more and continue to support the association if elected to lead the country in 2023.
Haruna opined that the APC leader will improve the welfare and lifestyle of its members while ensuring that MACBAN is respected across the country if the APC can give him the presidential ticket.
The MACBAN chief, however, noted that the association is paying attention to Tinubu and other aspirants who have shown their interest in succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said: “We are also scanning the people showing interest in the presidential seat with Bola Tinubu leading because he was the one that intervened in our matter while he was governor of Lagos and we had a crisis in Benue.
“Tinubu came all the way, got us on a round table, and reconciled us, so, someone who could do this at that time, we believe can do more when he is at the helms of affairs.”
Haruna added that Fulani communities are now being enlightened on the 2023 elections, on security, and how to live in peace with themselves and their neighbours.
