- Leader of the opposition Raila Odinga and the family of Juma had asked that investigations be carried out by the FBI or Scotland Yard

Kenyan detectives have spoken for the first time regarding the homicide investigations of the slain city businessman Jacob Juma.

The Director of Criminal Investigations Ndengwa Muhoro in a detailed statement has given a blow by blow account of the last day that Juma was alive, key persons that he met who are helping with unraveling the murder, and the places that he visited.

The detectives report has also detailed the persons that Juma had cases with, including a man named Brian Yongo who had a case where he threatened to kill the businessman.

The case, according to the report was due for hearing at Kibera magistrates court in Nairobi on July 15, 2016. But, as fate would have it, the man died before the case was heard and determined.

Juma also had other cases: one with Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and others with Mining Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala and former minister Fred Gumo.

It also indicates that Gumo had sent death threats to Juma for a debt KSh 14.8 million.
