Jacob Juma's mother, Esther Juma, also showed faith in God saying He was the ultimate judge.
Jacob Juma's Saturday, May 14, burial service was conducted by the Anglican Church leaders, as opposed to Batura elders as had earlier been claimed. This was a strong indication of the family's faith in the Lord.

Members of the Batura clan, a Bukusu sub-tribe, had said Jacob Juma would be buried with a torch and a knife. The items, it is believed, would help him haunt his killers.
Juma’s siblings were also required by the tradition to bathe in a river separately and later slaughter a bull as a sign that they had nothing to do with the murder of their brother.
Inside his grave a ritual, okhusalisia, was to be performed in order to awaken his ghost. One of Juma’s uncles or brother would then be lowered to the grave before Juma’s body. He would utter incantations and a strong binding curse that will ensure that Juma’s killers pay for the murder.

TUKO.co.ke could not establish whether these rituals went on alongside the Christian ceremony or not. However, photo's taken during the burial ceremony show Juma's coffin was opened once it was lowered in the grave.
Jacob Juma was shot dead by unknown gunmen on the night of Thursday, May 6, on his way to Karen.
Below is the video taken during Juma's burial. The kinsmen apparently interrupted the clerics to perform the okhusalisia ritual.
